RailPass.com Re-Launches and Announces It Will Donate 100% of Profits to Helping Victims of Italy’s Earthquake

BOSTON, Aug. 29, 2016—To mark its re-launch, RailPass.com, a leading online source for Eurail passes, announced it will give 100% of its profits through Dec. 31, 2016, to help the victims of Central Italy’s devastating earthquake. Donations will be made to the Italian Red Cross.

“Italy is the centerpiece of many European travel itineraries and a country that has given the world so much, “ says RailPass.com CEO Mike Fuller. “All of us at RailPass.com have been deeply touched by the news out of Italy and feel it’s our obligation as travel leaders to do all we can to help.”

This unique-in-the-industry donation also applies to any passes purchased in 2016 for use next summer, giving travelers a feel-good reason to book in advance.

The e-commerce website also unveils a new look and feel, along with innovative easy-to-use booking capabilities.

RailPass.com’s new Advanced Search makes it possible to instantly choose the perfect pass for each trip (some 400 combinations in 28 European countries). And, a custom 'Pass Value' section for every result allows travelers to compare top train ticket prices, flexibility, and extra benefits.

RailPass.com also features expanded destination content: expert country descriptions and highlights, as well as train line information, maps, event listings, and national and regional train line information for each of the participating countries.

In addition to enjoying low prices, travelers can take advantage of the latest deals and special offers, such as free shipping, bonus travel days, and even party invitations for Eurail pass holders.

Along with other trusted names, RailPass.com is recommended by the best-selling rail travel guidebook, Europe by Eurail (2016 edition), as the top provider of European rail passes worldwide.

“For over 25 years, RailPass.com has served a passionate population of European travelers. With this vastly new and improved website, we hope to expand our reach and make travel in Europe more accessible than ever,” says Fuller.

Rail Travel on the Rise in Europe

Train travel has long been a preferred mode of transportation in Europe, but in recent years ridership—on point-to-point tickets and rail passes—has increased steadily at a rate of 1.5 percent annually. The European rail market is estimated at 3.5 billion euro, with many countries, such as Italy, constantly reinvesting in its infrastructure and improving the experience for travelers with high-speed ergonomic trains to provide a modern, state-of-the-art ride with amenities like wifi and gourmet meals.

All of this adds up to good news—increased customer focus, better on-train experience, etc.—for the rail pass holder seeking to maximize their European adventures abroad.

RailPass.com is a division of Interrail, LLC and has been a leading online seller of Eurail passes since 1991. Its customer-centric approach to travel booking provides travelers with easy booking, low prices, and 24/7 customer service.
